The Salvation Debate

There are differences of opinion within the Christian community; in regards to Salvation, and when and how exactly is a person saved. It is generally accepted that there is nothing that we can do to earn eternal life, but on one side; there are those that believe that a sincere desire to repent of sins and to accept Jesus as Savior, is basically what is required to be saved; and that such a person's seat in heaven is secure, although this desire may be relatively short lived. On the other side, there are many opinions that reflect a belief that a life of striving to keep God's Law, is evidence that a person has actually received the Holy Spirit, and thus is Saved.

Many people are like I was; a person that was without a solid opinion one way or another about this most critical topic, and content to be that way. Obviously this is not good, and these people need to spend some quiet time with God, and seek His guidance. The internet, of course, has countless resources. Using google.com to search "Salvation" is a start; and books, of course; can provide great resources. As with anything else, God wants all of us to grow. Certain sermons and teachings about Salvation can give new insights to us all. Please take the necessary time to properly address this issue within your own mind!

Click on Just What Is Salvation,
then scroll down to the heading "Saved"- Past, Present, Future , for a very thorough and Bible-based point of view that describes Salvation as a life long process; then click on Can you lose your Salvation?, to examine a very different point of view. In addition, click Tests For If You're Saved for some eye opening scriptures and a sermon that also speak to the heart of this matter; showing how common it is for people to incorrectly believe that they are Believers!  The title of the sermon is "A Sermon That Has Angered Many - Examine Yourself".  Please take the time to listen to it.  To hear it, you need to do a brief registration that is free of charge.
